When people ask “what do you do?”, how do you answer?
I am a DJ! I work for an all female DJ group. I LOVE weddings, corporate events, sweet 16s, birthday parties!

What did you do before you did this?
I was a Water Park Manager and Activities Coordinator at CoCo Key Hotel & Water Resort.

When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
When I was little I wanted to be a wedding planner, but then thinking about it, I was like nah!!!! So I was going to school to be an elementary school teacher. Now I am attending UCF Rosen for Hospitality Management. It was in 2015 I started out as a photo booth attendant with Our DJ Rocks and moved my way up!

How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
In my previous job, I started off as lifeguard moving my way up to management. Taking on more responsibilities and having employees under me and depending on me helped me grow as a individual as well my work ethics.

Cierra is the life of the party!

What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
What I love most about what I do is being able to listen to music and create memories just by playing music and getting paid. I also love creating soundtracks with the memories! “You in da club just to party, I’m there I get paid a fee.” I also love watching my couples dance in the room alone at the end of the night! It’s so touching!

Tell us about your most memorable event so far.
I played Pour Some Sugar on Me and a guest started pouring legit sugar on his body for that entire song.

What’s the best part of your job?
The best part about my job is creating memories through music! Also, having a connection with my couples.

What motivates you to do this everyday?
$$$. Easy $$$.

What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
When my couples tell me they literally have guests from the wedding (weeks after) complimenting the music and the night. “Your music selection was amazing.”

What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
Do I have to dance the entire song, I do not want to dance for five minutes straight! And I tell them they don’t have to. I can fade it out for them!

Best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
This is your special evening. Your night! Do a last dance alone to look back on this special date with just you and your love.
