Cocktails
2 oz tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, ¾ oz agave, a few jalapeño slices (optional). Shake with ice and strain over ice in a salt-rimmed glass.
4 oz lemonade, ½ oz honey syrup, a few drops of food-grade lavender extract. Stir over ice and top with sparkling water.
Dinner for Two
Cook 8 oz spaghetti, saving 1 cup pasta water. Toast 1 tsp cracked black pepper in 2 tbsp butter, add ½ cup pasta water, then the pasta. Off the heat, toss in 1 cup finely grated Pecorino, adding water until silky.
Sear 2 seasoned chicken breasts in olive oil, set aside. In the same pan, cook 2 garlic cloves, then add ¾ cup chicken broth, ½ cup heavy cream, ⅓ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes, ¼ cup Parmesan and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Return the chicken and simmer 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through (165°F). Finish with basil.
Toss 1 lb halved baby potatoes with oil, salt and pepper, roast at 425°F for 20 minutes. Add 1 lb sirloin cubes tossed in 2 tbsp balsamic, 1 tbsp oil and garlic. Roast 8 to 10 more minutes for medium.
Game Night: Who’s More Likely To, Wedding Edition
- Cry first during the vows?
- Start the conga line?
- Request “one more song” at the end of the night?
- Forget their part of the first dance?
- Eat the most cake?
- Be the last one off the dance floor?
Winner decides who does the dishes.
Crumble 4 vanilla cupcakes or shortbread cookies into two glasses. Whip ½ cup heavy cream with 1 tbsp sugar and ½ tsp vanilla. Layer crumbs, cream and berries. Call it your tasting appointment.
Get Closer: Questions Before “I Do”
Wedding planning is a lot of decisions. These questions are about the marriage, not the party.
- What does a really good marriage look like to you?
- Which family traditions do you want to keep, and which do we leave behind?
- How can I best support you on a hard day?
- What is one thing you’re nervous about, and one thing you can’t wait for?
- What moment of the wedding day do you most want to soak in?
- What do you hope we’re still doing together in 10 years?
Little ritual: Each write one line you might put in your vows. Swap, keep them secret, and save them for the big day.
