Real Events: Brittnee + Joe’s Wedding Mission…FUN!

Brittnee and Joe had so much fun at their Mission Inn wedding (and so did we)! DJ Tabitha spun the tunes and kept the dance floor full, while the newlyweds brought the fun and set the tone for the evening.

One fun moment (for the guests, anyway) was the surprise Mother/Daughter dance to “Let’s Do the Twist” by Chubby Checker!

Was there a memory from your wedding that sticks out more than others? Maybe romantic, maybe fun dance-floor related?
My husband and I agree it was that last dance. When we met with DJ Tabitha, she explained there could be this last dance at the end of the night where they ask all the wedding guests to leave the room and they play our song with my husband and I being the only ones on the dance floor, and virtually the only people in the room. It sounded like a cute idea, so we ran with it.

Everyone warns you the day will be a whirlwind—and indeed it was—but that dance froze time for us. It gave us a moment to breathe and just take it all in. We had no clue how special that dance would end up being.

What is one piece of advice that you would give couples planning their wedding?
We initially didn’t plan on getting married for another year, but the opportunity arose to have the wedding sooner. So we started planning and making decisions quickly, instead of trying to fuss with too many details and it was probably the best decision we could have made.

If you could change one thing about your wedding, what would it be?
We totally should have gotten a photo booth; that just would have been so much fun! We love all our pictures and our photographer did such an amazing job, but you can never have too many photos!

Why did you choose Our DJ Rocks for your wedding entertainment?
When we first visited our wedding venue, our coordinator was showing us photos of previous weddings. We commented on some of the photos and our coordinator told us that was some of the work of Our DJ Rocks. Then in reading other reviews, I kept coming across the name Our DJ Rocks. So we contacted them, along with a few other wedding entertainment companies, but it was just the conversations we had with DJ Tabitha that made us feel like this was who we wanted to be with us for our wedding. Her passion and energy was contagious. She was so helpful to us in understanding the flow of our wedding…a DJ is so much more than just music! She took our ideas and ran with them, and more importantly, our guests seemed to have a blast, and that is exactly why you leave things like that to the professionals!
