Real Events: James + Nikki – Lake Nona Love

James and Nikki were such an amazing couple to work with.

Because they had a lot of different age ranges at their wedding, they were worried about mixing up the music to entice everyone. DJ Tabitha did just that! We played fun remixes like Bruno Mar’s “Finesse” background track and mixed it with “Stayin Alive” and a cool remix of “Celebration” from Kool and the Gang. You could feel & see the LOVE in the room.

And just check out these cool blue neon lights from Orlando Wedding and Party Rental! I loved that James and Nikki’s wedding had a lot of their personality. For instance their first dance song was “Electric” by Alina Baraz and I remember Nikki telling me that that song was just plain sexy. Also the father/daughter dance was a really cool acoustic version of “Coldest of Calendars” by Punchline. The couple danced the night away!

So glad I was able to be a part of their special day.

We asked Nikki a few questions after the wedding and wanted to share them with you!

Was there a memory from your wedding that sticks out more than others? Maybe romantic, maybe fun dance floor related?
I am almost embarrassed at how much I danced. I was expecting to dance, of course, but also to walk around and talk with family and friends I hadn’t seen in a while. However, I was in such a great mood and Tabbee was playing all our songs! It quickly became evident that if family wanted to hang with me, it would have to be on the dance floor. I have family and friends who tell me their memories of it, explaining that a smile never left my face and my arms were always in the air. And I have the pictures to prove it.

What is one piece of advice that you would give couples planning their wedding?
I think it’s important to have a good team behind you. People who have your best interests at heart. I was blessed to be able to hire wedding planners. These women were so good at what they did! This allowed my family and me to concentrate on how much fun planning a wedding can be and how important it is to be present during the engagement bliss.

If you could change one thing about your wedding, what would it be?
This is a tough one because I truly believe it was the perfect day. And I can’t believe that. I can’t believe how it all went so smoothly and that I could have that much fun. So, hmm. I would say that looking back, maybe I would try to look less freakishly excited in every picture! 😉

Why did you choose Our DJ Rocks for your wedding entertainment?
My husband and I knew we wanted a DJ, but I explained to our wedding planners that I had always wanted a woman DJ. When they told me about how Our DJ Rocks was an all-women group, I was pumped. I watched some videos and got so excited! The whole group was so talented. And when I talked to Tabitha on the phone, I fell in love! My best memories from the wedding were the times my husband and I got to dance to OUR songs. The songs we both loved when we were dating. It was such a magically night and we made the perfect choice!

We agree, Nikki! It was truly a magical night!
