Kimberly + David Wedding 12-8-19

Kimberly + David’s wedding day started out how we think every day should start: with a toss of glitter confetti!! This was great foreshadowing for exactly how we’d describe their big day – fun, whimsical, and full of laughter.

After Laura Reynolds and her team were done making these girls look extra glamorous, Kimberly’s dad came in for a first look at his not-so-little girl in her gorgeous dress. But unlike most daddy-daughter first looks, instead of tears, this one was full of dance moves to practice for later in the evening. How fun is that!

David and his groomsmen had a galactic secret going on: corresponding Star Wars character socks hidden beneath their snazzy blue suits added a bit of playfulness.

After our bride and groom said their vows and (finally!) tied the knot in front of all of their loved ones, they moved

to one of the gorgeous classrooms that are tucked in the halls of Venue 1902 at Preservation Hall to sign their marriage license.

What a sweet moment to share with your closest family and friends!

The decor and setting of their wedding was perfect for these two.

There were touches of rustic furniture, fragrant botanicals, mismatched photo frames, and gorgeous themes of nature throughout. Two Peas Designs did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of these two on their signs and seating chart. How sweet are those sapling tree wedding favors!

The reception space was aglow with amber uplighting provided by Our DJ Rocks. DJ Jennie and her assistant strategically placed them throughout the white room, taking the color from an accent during the bright day to a warm glow and romantic ambiance as the night went on.

It was the perfect transition from introductions, first dances, and dinner to cake cutting and dancing!

Speaking of dancing, we often get asked how we get a dance floor packed. And while we have a number of different ways to do that, DJ Jennie brought in a classic method – That’s Amore!

We ask everyone to put their arms around the people at their table and slowly sway to the classic Dean Martin song. Once the room is robustly singing along, ask them to get up and surround the couple, then BOOM! Switch it to a hopping song and everyone will stay dancing!

It doesn’t work with every crowd, but when it does, it makes for lasting memories and some really fun pictures!

This group of party animals rocked it out to songs like It’s Gonna Be Me by N*SYNC, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, and Shots by LMFAO.

After their last dance alone, the new Mr. + Mrs. were sent off with an ethereal sparkler exit – the perfect backdrop for these two. Just look at that smile!
